In Your Face!

That's what I think about when I'm cleaning. I'm a semi-green Mommy. I've gone pretty much BPA free, I use glass bottles, I don't use much plastic at all. I ALWAYS buy organic milk and meat. But how can we not be concerned about using safe cleaning products around our kids? I started being careful when I was pregnant. (I used every excuse I could to get out of cleaning!)
The only chemical cleaner I use is some scrubbing bubble type bathroom cleaner in my bathroom to clean the glass around my shower and for the tub and potty, but I turn on the vent, turn on my ceiling fan (my bath is connected to my bedroom)and open the windows. If it smells that bad and forces me to do those things, then I probably shouldn't use it, right?
But, around my kids is different. I usually use one of those microfiber cloths and no cleaner at all. Before that I used Seventh Generation. Yesterday I picked up some clorox green cleaner I think it's called (I cannot find the bottle?? I guess the kids walked of with it??) I'm not sure how safe it is, really. Do families still use those strong cleaners anymore? I cannot imagine using something like Formula 409 on my kitchen table where my kids sometimes lick the table acting like a dog? I think I'd rather use nothing at all. I bet licking my table with normal germs is better than licking the table after using scarey chemicals... Right?

Newest Product Review, Punkin Seed!

They say "a picture is worth a thousand words"? Then I say, "a package is worth a thousand words". The presention of these adorable products was more than impressive. This included a gift box that was an adorable green cirle pattern, wrapped in a matching bow. Don't you just love NOT having to wrap your gift? ( I'm not one to keep all occasion wrapping paper around my house!) This led to high expectations of the punkin seed products. I was happy to see that the products matched the quality of the packaging. I received an assortment of personalized gifts. FULL REVIEW HERE

As told to me by Sarah

** I am wearing one of those Juicy like halter top dresses (around the house and after shower ONLY) and I reach over her to tuck her in to watch a cartoon, when I bend over, my boobs fall out

MOM- "oops, my boobies fell out"
SARAH- "NO MOMMY, your boobies are HANGING out"

Thanks Sarah!

As told to me by Sarah!

**Mom is in a bad mood today, cleaned up too many messes, poopy diapers and it's wet outside, so we're stuck inside! Hubby is out of town AGAIN!
-Sarah and Andew are at the table eating yogurt and Sarah keeps dropping her spoon on the floor

MOM- "Sarah! Just how many spoons are you going to drop on the floor today!!"

SARAH- (serious look on her face) "TWO!"

I give up!

My new favorite book

This is not your average "list of baby stuff" book. I picked up this book trying to see just what this lady could tell me that I didn't already know after having three kids... well, this is now on the list of things I am buying my new mom friends!

My baby won't sleep through the night...good for me!

I just came downstairs from comforting my 6 and half month old. None of my three kids slept through the night before one year. Depending on the day, of course, that's a good thing.
Having three kids under 4 calls for a hectic and energetic day. I feel pulled and always have someone on my lap at one time or another. But... the times at night when my youngest needs me, is time I treasure. He doesn't want to breastfeed, he doesn't want to burp, fart or perform any other bodily function, he just wants to be held. He wants to know he is safe, he wants "mommy time" The house is quiet, the chores are done (ok, so almost done) and it's just me waltzing around his room, in my 20 year old mu-mu tank dress, smelling his hair, nuzzling his cheek ever so lightyly as not to wake him. He's growing up so fast...
I may complain I'm tired, but I don't want to miss a second of this and I know how much I'll miss it the first day of Kindergarten, or when he graduates high school.
I've been through this three times and it never gets old.

I can make my butt talk...

Thank you Jim Carrey! Oh, and thanks to my husband.
Remember in "Ace Ventura" I think that's what it was? Where he uses his butt to say "can I ASS you a question" I don't know where my daughter saw that, but, she gets the biggest kick out of doing it. She runs around nakie, turns around, bends over and makes her butt talk! It's one of those things where you KNOW you shouldn't laugh, and you know laughing will only encourage it, but it's so friggin' funny you can't help it.
Ok, her first day of pre-school, I was getting my boys out of the car to walk her to her class and she was talking to some lady in the parking lot... small talk.. then she says "I can make my butt talk" Ahhh, a proud moment in Mommie's life! I laughed and the lady laughed and on we went.
I am so glad I am not a prude or uptight. I'm proud she can make her butt talk.

Bonding is an important part of this learning experience for both the parents
and the baby. Babies that are handled a lot by both parents soon
learn the difference between mom and dad. They will know which one is holding
them and they have different reactions to each.

Folic acid and pregnancy

Getting enough folic acid in pregnancy, whether from food or from a supplement, is an important way to protect your growing baby. This vitamin is a simple, but important part of the development of new cells and of a baby's neural tube. During pregnancy, cells are dividing and reproducing quickly. This is why we all need to pay attention to what we eat, and be sure to take in the right vitamins before we get pregnant, and in the early stages of pregnancy.

Showing my boobs in public

I know this is an age old debate. And I think you know what side I'm on.
To be totally blunt, who the hell cares if you see a boob in public? Are we American's so uptight to be offended to see a boob in public?
Most women do try to cover up, but there are times when it's tough for the little one to latch on. I am proud to nurse my baby anywhere and anytime I want. I just invite someone to come up to me. Then I may just whip out both so they can see what being offended is really like! After nursing two kids, my boobies aren't the Pamela Anderson's they used ta be!
This is the article I am referring to.

Tell me what is wrong about this magazine cover.

OK, I really need some opinions about this photo. I grabbed this magazine to sift through because I still get these free. Don't get me wrong, this little girl I'm sure is really cute... But does she have a TON of makeup on???
I think they even did her eyebrows! I'm not trying to say she's freaky.
BUT... it's just WRONG!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one!

Why pregnant women get started at...

I now know.
Yesterday I was in my local grocery store. My two year old snuggled in her pink minky cart cover talking a mile a minute, my 8 month old son burrowing his head in his Ergo back pack carrier.
Entering the produce area I saw an attractive pregnant gal. I had to smile. She acted like we all did when we were first pregnant, she knew I was looking, but she wasn't in the mood to give me the pregnant smile you give back when someone smiles at you for being pregnant.(ya might have to re-read that one)I just thought about the life I had before I was pregnant, about how clueless I was. I thought about how much sleep I got before I became a mother, I thought about how different life will be for her in just a few months. I remember how selfish I was before I had a baby and how little I knew about my husband.

I kept on, answering back every question my two year old was throwing at me, bouncing my son as I walked. I saw her again in the paper towel area. I was reaching for a particular print because I hate the "country" style prints, I wanted something like moons and stars. In my quest for eclectic paper towels I dropped one on the ground. She watched me, I bent down and picked it up, son in tow and gave it to my daughter to place in the back of the cart (her 'big girl' job) Then she smiled at me and said, "wow, you're talented" I asked if this was her first and she said "yes" then she goo goo'd my son and touched his fat/chunky legs and I thought "yeah, she doesn't have kids" Because all Moms know you don't touch babies! :) I let is slide, knowing the horror she'll feel the first time some old lady squeezes her newborn's cheeks! EEKK!!
So, that is why pregnant women get stared at, we all know how life is different before you are a mother and how wonderful it is after...

HI all!
Just a quick update for those interested. My little guy was breech at our OB appt yesterday, so the doc scheduled a procedure today to try and move him to the head down position.
IT WORKED! He is now facing the right way. Typical of the "male" in my life to give me a hard time.
